Social Media Impacts on Human Behaviour

A study conducted on the behavioral patterns of a human by taking inputs from the social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Three questions were put forward and feed back noted.

Social Media Impacts on Human Behaviour - Introduction

Social media has become a part and parcel of our daily lives. Contrast to earlier days, we seem to be more dependent on the offerings from the social media for a daily news feed or reaching out to our near and dear ones.

But are we too much involved in social media such that our personality is being altered?

Social Media Impacts on Human Behaviour - Objective

To study human behaviour with regards to social media interactions.

Social Media Impacts on Human Behaviour - Methodology

A set of questions were put across a section of social media audience and their feedbacks recorded.

These are the questions put in to get the response from the social media users.

Social Media Impacts on Human Behaviour - Observation

The feedbacks paved the following results.

Social Media Impacts on Human Behaviour - Inference

As mentioned in the Introduction, social media has been a major part of our day to day life. The usage of social media and the effect it has on one's behaviour is evident from the observations thus impacting the psychological condition of a human. Let's see how!

Even before one is physically awake, their social media conscience wakes up which searches for their phone/tablet or whatsoever is placed in the closest proximity to have a view on their social media feeds. The point to be noted here is that a person's day starts with a social media session. The content a person is exposed to in the early morning has a great effect on a person. It is said that in the morning our mind is fresh to take in information easily. An example is students are advised to prepare for their exams in the early morning hours.

At first glance, this seems to be normal but moving onto the second observation we get to know that social media sessions can create mood swings. And in this context, the combination of the first two can be a dangerous thing. Just imagine a person getting exposed to disturbing content in social media.

But there is still some hope left when coming to our third observation, people are still reluctant to go gung-ho to better their social media image. Even though the majority indulges in social media frequently, they're not ready to take the social media branding as an inevitable thing or try something out of the books. And here, I guess the conscience has got a big role to play. They know to differentiate between what is right and wrong despite their branding in social media.

Social Media Impacts on Human Behaviour - Conclusion

Social media is taking a toll on our daily lives and it is definitely up to the users to keep a check on how it's affecting their behaviour.
